Vancouver, Canada : Today, InEnergy Canada, an Indigenous-owned solar power energy firm, announced that it will be participating in the 2017 Aboriginal Business Match (ABM) from May 8th to May 10th in Penticton, British Columbia. The new company, a joint venture between the Coast Salish Naut'sa mawt Resources Group (NRG) and international solar panel manufacturer Invensun Environmental Corporation, intends to help remote communities become economically and environmentally self sustaining through projects that provide energy independence, security, training and education.
The Aboriginal Business Match (ABM) connects a national network of Aboriginal decision makers to create opportunities for business, training and employment.
InEnergy President and NRG CAO Gary Reith says that "As a Coast Salish owned company, we believe it is important to support Aboriginal economic development initiatives. The ABM is exactly where we want to be."
Over the three days, InEnergy Canada plans to engage with community leaders and members to explain their collaborative approach to providing energy independence and security.
"Our micro and utility scale solar power systems generate safe, clean, renewable energy for remote communities", explains InEnergy's CEO, Mr. Makwana. "But we don't just want to power communities, we want to help community members with hands-on training and capacity building so they can be the utility."
InEnergy is a joint venture between Naut'sa mawt Resources Group and Invensun Environmental Corporation.
NRG is owned by Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council (NmTC), a non-profit society incorporated in 1983, that proudly serves eleven member First Nations. Working together as one, NmTC supports its member nations and Canada's Indigenous communities in realizing their efforts towards self-reliance, self-governance, connection to culture, and quality of life now and for future generations.
Invensun Environmental Corporation (Invensun) is passionate about providing Renewable Energy Solutions that make a positive impact on individuals and communities. Based in Calgary Canada and founded in 2009, Invensun is a specialized solar panel manufacturer and provides Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Services.
